Cookies
This site counts visits with Google Analytics, for statistics only. Turn it off here for this browser. Any analytics cookies already set are deleted when you do.
What this website stores
There is no banner because nothing here needs consent: the only cookies are for counting visits, configured so the data is used for this site alone, and you can object above. Details:
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells one visitor's page views apart from another's, so visits can be counted. Contains a random number, not your identity. | 2 months |
_ga_7XRBKHVYTL | Keeps track of the current visit so pages seen in one sitting count as one visit. | 2 months |
id-ga-optout | Your choice above. Set only if you turn analytics off; stored in local storage, not a cookie. | Until you change it |
Google Analytics is configured with Google Signals off, no advertising features, no data shared with Google's other products, and 2-month retention. Google processes the data as a processor under its data processing terms. The web server sets no cookies of its own.
What the platform stores
The Interactive Democracy platform (the app) sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It keeps two things in your browser, both needed for the features you use and never sent to a server:
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
id-civic-agent-v1 | Your on-device values model: which scenarios you looked at, how you leaned, whether you shifted. Shown on the agent page. | Until you erase it on the agent page or clear site data |
id-session | A random code so contributions from one sitting can be grouped. | Until you close the tab |
Other ways to control this
Your browser can block or delete cookies and site data for any site; the settings are usually under Privacy. If you block everything for this site, it still works — you would only lose the on-device values model on the platform.
How information is handled more broadly is on the privacy page.
